Paris CDG 2E to partially re-open
Two sections of terminal 2E, including the duty-free shopping area, have been cleared to re-open in the second half of August.
The security commission of Paris' Seine-Saint-Denis prefecture has declared two of the three buildings comprising Charles de Gaulle airport's damaged terminal 2E safe to re-open later this month.
Aéroports de Paris (AdP) said the reception building at the front of the terminal, which houses check-in, baggage reclaim and landside retail, and the central concourse, which houses the security checkpoints, airline lounges and duty-free shopping area, will both re-open to the public in the second half of August.
These buildings were not affected in the accident of May 23 in which four people died following a partial collapse of the roof of the 650m-long boarding pier.
The boarding pier remains closed until further notice. AdP said the partly re-opened terminal will process the passengers of around 10 flights per day, who will be transferred between aircraft and terminal by bus.
