The tender process to operate retail space at five of Norway's biggest airports has progressed to the second stage

The tender process to operate retail space at five of Norway's biggest airports has progressed to the second stage. So far, 12 companies have bid for the one contract available to operate the retail space at Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim and Kristiansand airports.

Oslo Lufthavn commercial developer Arnesen Terje said: "We expected eight, maybe a maximum of 10. But not 12 bidders." Out of the 12 however, some will not reach the final stage.

The next stage of the tenders is a presentation of capabilities along with a site presentation of the prospective airport retail space, scheduled for March 10 and 11.

The closing date for receiving all tender information is April 19. By this point the authority expects to have received all information about each company's choice of operating concepts, their ability to ensure quality services, pricing and sales-based remuneration.

The contract will cover the period January 1 2005 to December 31 2011 and includes retail space yet to be developed at Oslo airport.
