Travel Retail Norway unveils its permanent arrivals store at Oslo over two months ahead of schedule
Travel Retail Norway will open its permanent arrivals store at Oslo International airport this week, over two months ahead of schedule. The joint venture between Gebr Heinemann and local retailer Esthetique Norge said that the resulting 630sq m (6,779sq ft) outlet would significantly enhance passengers' shopping experience over the peak winter period.
The company opened its 200sq m (2,152sq ft) temporary arrivals outlet in July immediately following the introduction of arrivals shopping legislation by the Norwegian government. It has also opened arrivals outlets at its other Norwegian locations at Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim and Kristiansand.
Travel Retail Norway managing director Pål Wibe told RavenFox.com: "The opening ahead of schedule was made possible by the hard work of our suppliers and the efforts of our team in minimising the construction time. The new store will offer an expanded assortment from all product categories and will greatly improve the shopping experience at the airport."
Wibe said that the company was on track to open an enlarged 450sq m (4,842sq ft) outlet serving departing and arriving passengers at Stavanger airport by February. At Bergen, the company is planning to almost double the size of its combined arrivals and departures outlet in two phases, opening the first expansion in the summer of 2006 and the completed store in autumn.
