Seven retail locations available under six different RFPs
The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) has issued the first in a series of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for seven retail spaces that have or will become available at Orlando International airport between September and October. The authority has published an RFP for a 400sq ft (37sq m) airside manicure service outlet in terminal two, and the deadline for proposal submissions is November 9. GOAA has advised that proposals in which the initial minimum annual concession fee is less than $40,000 will not be considered.
Five other RPFs will be available between October and November. The first, on October 10, will be for a 960sq ft (90sq m) speciality retail shop in the west hall of landside terminal. Proposals must be sent to the authority by December 14. From October 17 interested companies will be able to request proposal documents for a 1,255sq ft (117sq m) airside speciality beverages outlet in terminal two, for which the deadline is December 7. RFPs for a 1,335sq ft (124sq m) landside bookstore in the east hall of the terminal and a landside snack bar of undetermined size on level two of terminal will be issues on October 31; proposals need to be received by January 11 and January 4 respectively. Finally, from November 6 the authority will release the RFP for two speciality snack food concessions at airside terminals two and four of 190sq ft (18sq m) and 250sq ft (23sq m) respectively. The deadline for proposals is also January 11.
More retail opportunities will be available in 2009, when the airside refurbishment at terminals one and three are scheduled to be completed. Orlando International welcomes about 35m passengers annually.
