The Turkish retailer hopes for a strong second-half performance

Turkish retailer Onur Ekspres expects sales levels to rise from €25m ($30m) in 2004 to hit the €30m ($36m) mark by the end of the year.

Purchasing director Gokhan Subay told RavenFox.com: "For this year we have a target of €5 ($6) in spend per passenger."

Sales ended 2000 at €7.5m ($9m), but the company has enjoyed rapid growth since it was reorganised in 2001. Its inflight retail business accounts for half of total sales and the company runs the duty-free operations of Onur Air, Turkey's biggest charter airline.

Onur Ekspres operates from 12 locations, six of which are used for its inflight duty-free services. The other six are shops located at Dalaman airport, Kapikule on the Turkish-Bulgarian border, Cilvegozu on the Turkish-Syrian border and Ercan airport in north Cyprus.
