Dallas Fort Worth International Airport has announced plans to develop new retail and food and beverage concepts as a result of a $181m oil and gas drilling deal
Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is to invest in new retail and catering facilities following a deal that will earn the airport $181m. The airport has agreed to Chesapeake Energy Corp drilling on 18,000 acres of airport-owned land for oil and natural gas.
In addition to funding new retail facilities the airport is planning to use much of the money to pay off its $2.7b debt. The $181m deal is almost half the airport's 2005 revenue.
