October international traffic surges at AA2000

The Argentinian airports group reports strong growth, with passenger numbers reaching 5.1m for the first 10 months of 2004

Argentinian airport operator Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 (AA2000) has announced international passenger growth of 16.8%, to 533,944, throughout its network for the month of October. Traffic rose to 5.1m passengers for the first 10 months of the year, up 16.6% on the same period in 2003.

Growth in domestic traffic slowed slightly, increasing by 7.1% to 779,094 for the month. But the recovery in the local economy was demonstrated by a 13.7% increase in domestic traffic from January to October.

International traffic at Buenos Aires Ezeiza airport, the country's principal gateway for business and leisure traffic, continued to grow strongly, up 16.2% for the month to over 462,000 passengers. More than 4.3m passengers have used Ezeiza since the start of 2004, up 15% on last year.
