Nuance wins Copenhagen tender
The Nuance Group has retained its duty-free concession at Copenhagen Kastrup airport for a further five years from March 2002.
The agreement encompasses one main shop and five smaller satellite/specialty shops. Nuance has operated the duty-free shops at Copenhagen airport since July 1995.
From August 2002, the main shop will be expanded from 1,400 sq m (15,064sq ft) to 2,630 sq m (28,299sq ft).
In addition to the traditional duty-free areas, the new shop will boast a series of specialty shops carrying international brands and special offers. The new general shop concept will also include events, pre-order facilities and a wine tasting bar.
The Nuance Group president and ceo Peter Petersen said: "Copenhagen is very important to The Nuance Group and one where we have been extremely successful in installing exciting new shopping concepts, always in close cooperation with the airport authorities. These joint efforts have succeeded in placing Copenhagen airport among the top international airports as far as its shopping offer is concerned. We are very happy about the outcome of this challenging tender."
Copenhagen Airports vice president Leif Rasmussen said: "I am pleased with and impressed by the tender submitted by Nuance and the quality improvement, which passengers at the airport will experience when the expanded main shop opens. CPH has staked on a significant expansion of the shopping area, and we are therefore very pleased that Nuance has presented an exciting and innovative general shop concept."
