The retailer can now offer an expanded range of product categories to passengers arriving in Australia
The Nuance Group has thanked the federal government for the introduction of new regulations for arrivals duty-free shopping when entering Australia.
Under the new rules, which are part of the countrys Tourism Shopping Reforms and came into effect on October 6, retailers are allowed to offer a broader range of tax- and duty-free merchandise in arrival stores alongside liquor, tobacco, fragrance and cosmetics. Customers can also select goods on departure from the full range of tax and duty-free goods and arrange for them to be collected on their return to Australia using Nuances Ready for Collection service.
Nuance business development director Australia and New Zealand David Odgers said: This is an excellent example of the government working with industry to create an improved environment for consumers. Customers with spare time on departure can shop for the products they want, whether its the latest iPod or camera or preferred cosmetics regime. Australia already leads the way in convenience for duty-free shopping and this change will make Australian duty-free shopping even better.
