The Nuance Group highlights the growing importance of food and beverage contracts to its business after gaining its second catering concession at Singapore Changi airport

The Nuance Group has emphasised its “commitment to further pursue” catering concession opportunities after being awarded a coffee shop concession at Singapore Changi airport’s new terminal three. The retailer, which already operates a Brek restaurant at Changi, will open the Tosto outlet when the new terminal opens in January next year.

The new coffee shop—with a menu focused on the Italian hot sandwich, or tosto—will cover 230sq m in the landside arrivals area. The concession is valid for three years with a two-year option.

Nuance executive vice-president strategy and business development Ivo Favotto said: “We see this addition to our food and beverage portfolio as a very important breakthrough. We are working hard to grow this part of our business and now have successfully introduced our Italian restaurant and café concepts to the airport market. Asia in general and Singapore in particular are very important markets for us, and we look forward to being present with yet another concept to cater to passengers’ needs at Changi airport.”

Nuance holds the Tosto and Brek concessions on its own rather than through its Nuance-Watson (Singapore) joint venture, which holds the fragrances and cosmetics concessions at terminals one, two and the budget terminal, and is in the bidding for the airport-wide beauty concession being tendered at present.
