RavenFox.com understands that The Nuance Group is poised to win the contract to operate retail at Glasgow Prestwick airport

The Nuance Group is set to make an important addition to its UK business after emerging as favourite to win the retail tender at Glasgow Prestwick airport. RavenFox.com understands that the retailer has beaten competition from Aelia to land the contract, which covers the airport's existing 350sq m (3,765sq ft) tax-free store along with substantial retail space under construction in departures.

The airport confirmed it had made a decision but declined to confirm the identity of the winner. Nuance confirmed that it had been in talks with Prestwick but said that it was yet to receive official confirmation of the result.

Up to now Prestwick, owned by New Zealand-based airports group Infratil, has run its own retail operation but will now appoint a retail concessionaire on a five-year contract.
