Nuance opens chocolate store at Amsterdam Schiphol airport
The retailer expands its presence at the Dutch airport with a modern confectionery outlet in terminal one
The Nuance Group has opened a new chocolate store at Amsterdam Schiphol airport as part of the expansion development at terminal one. The 105sq m (1,129sq ft) store aims to appeal to chocolate lovers with walls designed to look like large chocolate bars. The store features a full confectionery range, including an exclusive Neuhaus loose bulk counter with a large truffle section.
The store caters to two passenger groups within the predominantly European passengers profile?morning charter flights and evening business-related flights, although the ranges can be rotated to suit the relevant passenger profile.
The store is located near the security area and opposite the liquor, tobacco, fragrance and cosmetic stores due to open in February 2005.
Nuance general manager Henri Koopman said: ?Amsterdam Schiphol airport and The Nuance Group worked closely together to develop this new retail space. It was our intention to create the ideal environment for passengers to purchase confectionery and I am very pleased with the result and am convinced that with this new store we can use our expertise in specialist retailing to maximise the European passenger sales.?
Nuance sells confectionery in 14 stores at Schiphol, seven of which are owned by Nuance, with the balance operated by Nuance with other retailers.
