The Nuance Group announced today it is expanding its Canadian operations by opening "Spirit of Victoria", a downtown store in Victoria on Vancouver Island. Victoria is located on the south tip of Vancouver Island off the west coast of British Columbia and draws an annual traffic of some 3.5m visitors.

The strongly-themed store reflects the character of Canada's "vacation capital", offering a broad range of merchandise including toys, T-shirts and souvenir food products. The selection features exclusive products made uniquely for Nuance and not available at any other retail outlet. In addition to the product range geared at visitors, there is a pre-order facility for duty-free liquor, tobacco and fragrances offered for passengers departing Vancouver airport. The goods are delivered straight to the boarding gate.

CEO for The Nuance Group Canada, Roger Dunbar said, "With Spirit of Victoria Nuance is further expanding its off-airport presence. Spirit of Victoria represents an ideal marriage of an excellent retail location, an extremely popular tourist destination and leveraging Nuance's core competencies in travel retail."
