Retailer The Nuance Group has opened two dedicated Euro 2008 stores at Zürich and Geneva International airports. The temporary 30sq m (322sq ft) landside outlets are located in the airport’s general visitors’ area and offers a range of t-shirts in different national colours as well as footballs, games, caps, mugs and travel luggage. LED screens showing highlights from previous European championships have also been set up in the stores.
The Nuance Group Switzerland managing director Stephan Salvisberg said: “With Switzerland hosting an event of the importance of Euro 2008 it was clear to us and our airport partners that we wanted to provide an adequate shopping offer targeting fans at Zürich and Geneva airports. We are confident that our stores will contribute to the positive image of Switzerland as the event’s host country.”
UEFA commercial director Philippe Margraff added: “UEFA’s goal is to reach the fans and airports are a great way to achieve this. We are pleased to have collaboration with a professional retail company such as The Nuance Group.”
