Nuance makes senior appointments in Asia/Pacific

The operator welcomes Rick Lowry to the new role of Australia/New Zealand chief operating officer, and John Martin as regional chief financial officer

The Nuance Group Asia Pacific has appointed Rick Lowry to the new role of regional chief operating officer, based in Australia. The retailer has also announced the imminent appointment of John Martin as regional chief financial officer, also based in Australia.

Lowry joins Nuance from Indonesian department store Matahari, where he has been COO for several years. He was previously group general manager store operations for the Australian department store chain Myer and Grace Bros.

Martin has previously held senior posts at Data Advantage, David Jones Ltd and the Adsteam group of companies.

Nuance Asia Pacific CEO John Moore said: "Nuance is delighted to welcome to the Group two highly experienced and well respected executives. Both Rick and John will strengthen our resolve to become a great retailer in the region and to be the gold standard of airport retailing."

Commenting on the new role of Asia/Pacific COO, Moore said: "By introducing this new position, Nuance will benefit from an even stronger focus on day-to-day operational excellence as well as continuing to introduce best practice marketing and buying programmes."
