4-Apr-2003

The Nuance Group today opened its latest fine food concept, Gourmetto by Nuance, in the new shopping center at Zürich airport's train terminal.

The shop offers a large variety of fine food, particularly from the Mediterranean region, along with a choice of wine, tea and cigars. Nuance is the main concessionaire at Zurich Airport, operating eight duty-free stores along with eight specialist shops. Gourmetto is Nuance's first landside outlet targeting travellers, visitors and employees alike.

The store measures 235sq m (2,528sq ft). Among the typical Mediterranean items are stuffed vine leaves and marinated feta cheese. There is a choice of over 110 fine wines, 50 sorts of vinegar and an array of tea, spirits and cigars. The Olive Shop, a shop-within-a-shop, features more than 70 types of olive oil and many types of olives.

The Nuance Group managing director Europe South Carlo Bernasconi said: "Moving landside allows us to cater to an even larger customer group in the domestic market, and we are happy to thus complement our existing operations at Zurich airport."
