The Box of Delights outlet at Antalya International airport terminal one offers traditional Turkish sweets

The Nuance Group Turkish joint venture Urart has added a new destination/confectionery concept to its shop portfolio at Antalya International airport terminal one. The Box of Delights outlet features traditional Turkish sweets presented in a design reminiscent of the Ottoman style. The retail space consists of a free-standing display area of minimalist design with a nineteenth century hat motif.

Nuance-Net joint venture managing director Cengiz Iman said the format of the outlet establishes the product “as a true souvenir from Turkey, be it for self-consumption or a special gift”.

Urart is jointly owned by Nuance (55%) and Net Holding (45%) and has managed the duty-free concession at Antalya T1 since 1998. The company currently operates the main departures and arrivals stores and has 16 speciality shops plus and a separate liquor and tobacco stand-alone last-minute shop, totalling 1,850sq m (19.913sq ft) of retail area. The offer at arrivals is the same as that in departures with no restrictions but on a slightly smaller scale. The shops sell all main categories of products including liquor, tobacco, perfume cosmetics, fashion accessories and fine food.

Antalya International airport handled 14.8m passengers in 2006.
