Nuance gains five-year extension at Geneva
The Nuance Group has won an extension to its duty-free
concession at Geneva airport's taking it from 2002 to 2006. The
contract includes the main duty-free store as well as four
last-minute shops at the gates, a total of 725sq m (7,800sq
ft).
In addition to the duty-free stores, Nuance manages three duty-paid
shops offering fashion and accessories, design and gift items.
Nuance has been operating at Geneva airport since 1962 and will be
celebrating 40 years of retailing at the airport next year.
For the new concession period beginning on January 1, 2002, Nuance plans an enlargement and redesign of the main duty-free store. The store's offer comprises the traditional duty-free categories of liquor, tobacco and fragrances/cosmetics as well as a range of confectionery, gift items and fashion accessories. The store also has a 15sq m (161sq ft) walk-in humidor
As an addition to the existing concept, Nuance is developing a new retail concept for the liquor category for Geneva airport.
The Nuance Group Europe South managing director Peter Eriksson said: "Nuance is a Swiss-based company, our roots go back to the first duty-free stores in Geneva and Zurich. For nearly 40 years now we have worked in close collaboration with the airport management to fully develop the retail offer and bring passengers the best in shopping.
