The Nuance Group confirms its purchase of Malta International airport concessionaire Air Supplies and Catering

The Nuance Group has officially announced its purchase of Air Supplies and Catering with local partners Airport Investments, part of Bianchi Group of Companies, and Demajo Holdings. The new company will operate under a new name The Nuance Group Malta.

As originally reported (DFNI September 15), the company will operate the two existing shops in the departures and arrivals areas at Malta International airport, totalling 407sq m (4,380sq ft). A departures outlet is planned for construction soon. The existing contract ends in 2014 but an extension has been granted for the new company to operate until 2017.

The Nuance Group CEO Europe Carlo Bernasconi said: "We are delighted about this partnership with two well-established Maltese companies. Together we are perfectly positioned to successfully operate the retail concessions at Malta International airport. By establishing a strategically important foothold on its southernmost borders, Nuance is further strengthening its position in Europe."
