Duty-free operator The Nuance Group is to remain an integral part of its parent Swissair Group. The Group announced details of its restructuring plan yesterday, clearly defining Nuance as one of its three core businesses: airlines, airline catering and travel retail.

In his statement, Mario Corti, chairman and chief executive of Swissair Group, evaluated Swissair Group's financial position. The full results of the process will become available on 30 August when Swissair Group will report figures for the six months to 30 June.

"Looking forward, the future Group strategy will revolve around the core airline business of Swissair and Crossair and the market leading businesses of Gate Gourmet and Nuance," Corti explained.

President & ceo The Nuance Group, Peter Petersen, said, "With this new strategic direction taken by Swissair Group, Nuance becomes part of a strong group focussing on the same goal: satisfied customers onboard aircraft and at airports. I am convinced that this will give us a unique advantage and we look forward to using this opportunity to the best."
