The retailer will operate the duty-free concessions at Houston George Bush Intercontinental airport terminals A to D until 2014
The Nuance Group has been awarded a three-year contract extension to operate the duty-free stores at Houston George Bush Intercontinental airport terminals A to D. The retailer, which operates as Liberty Duty Free at the location, currently operates two stores and three retail kiosks totalling 4,047sq ft (376sq m).
Airport operator Houston Airport System commercial development manager Randy Goodman said: "Nuance has proven to be a first-class customer-focused operator and we are very pleased with their performance since they first took over the duty-free concession. They have built very attractive duty-free outlets and have managed to increase duty-free sales per international enplanement by over 50% since they began operations in 2005. What is particularly impressive is that they have achieved these gains despite having to deal with significant challenges including, most recently, the liquid and gel security restrictions.”
The Nuance Group North America CEO Richard Rendek added: “We are extremely pleased to have been granted this contract extension and we look forward to our continued relationship with the airport administration and the further growth of the business.”
