Jean-Paul Bonnel will leave France Printemps Group to fill Carlo Bernasconi's previous role as CEO Europe next year

The Nuance Group has appointed Jean-Paul Bonnel as CEO Europe, succeeding Carlo Bernasconi who was named executive vice-president business development and strategic marketing earlier this year. Bonnel, who will take the post from January 2006, will join Nuance from France Printemps Group where he is executive director in charge of chain stores, affiliates and development in France and abroad.

Bonnel's previous experience includes senior operational posts for Marks & Spencer in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the UK. At present he oversees 26 stores with a combined turnover of €600m, employing 3,000 staff.

The Nuance Group president and CEO Roberto Graziani said: "This appointment is in line with our clearly defined strategy to put retail talent in charge of our operations at all levels. Jean-Paul Bonnel brings with him an extraordinary experience in the retail field, gained over many years with leading retail companies in several countries.
