The retailer’s franchised Mango store is new to the airport and will target a young, fashion-conscious audience

The Nuance Group is to open two new fashion stores at Zurich airport in the general visitors’ areas of the landside shopping precinct. The 600sq m (6,458sq ft) Espirit outlet—the brand’s largest in travel-retail—and the 125sq m (1,345sq ft) Mango shop are set to open in April 2008.

Nuance already stocks Espirit products both landside and airside at the airport, but Mango is new to the airport. The existing 180sq m (1,937sq ft) multi-brand store will be converted into a “Cult” multi-brand store featuring brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Pepe Jeans and Diesel.

Nuance Switzerland managing director Stephan Salvisberg said: “We are very pleased at this opportunity to expand our landside offer at Zurich airport. The general visitors’ areas are very interesting commercially and an ideal opportunity to showcase our expertise. At the same time, our intimate knowledge of the airport’s customer base enables us to perfectly complement the existing offer.”

Zurich airport head of marketing retail Patrick Graf added: “The landside shopping offer at Zurich airport has become an important pillar of our retail business. Expanding the space to retail and gastronomy by 5,500sq m (59,201 sq ft) has allowed us to extend our business by introducing new services and brands to strengthen our position in the local market.”
