The retailer makes further steps to establish a presence in mainland China
Nuance-Watson (HK) is planning to extend its reach in the mainland Chinese duty-free market by opening an office in China. The company said in a statement that it hoped the move would "pave the way for the company's long-term development in China".
As part of its drive to break into the Chinese market, Nuance exhibited at the Airport Cities World Conference and Exhibition in Hong Kong on September 10-12, before delegates from over 50 Chinese airports. It hoped that the exhibition would "enhance our status as the premier airport retail operator at Hong Kong International airport. This was a great opportunity to understand more about the China environment, extending [our] reach into this huge potential market."
The retailer has also put up a booth at Hong Kong International airport to showcase its retail portfolio. The company said that at present almost 50% of international traffic must fly through the airport, giving Nuance-Watson insights into their consumer behaviour.
