The travel retailer has opened The Plaza department store and Watson’s pharmaceutical outlet in the landside departures hall

Nuance-Watson (HK) has opened The Plaza department store and Watson’s pharmaceutical and personal care outlet at China's Zhuhai airport in partnership with Airport Authority Hong Kong. The 7,000sq ft (650sq m) of retail space is located in the landside departures hall.

The Plaza department store offers watches and jewellery, fashion and luggage, beauty and fragrances and food and souvenirs and is based on a contemporary design with an open plan environment. Nuance-Watson (HK) has also erected a podium in the main catchment area outside the store to attract shoppers with promotional displays.

The airport authority recently celebrated the first anniversary of its joint venture with the Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government to manage Zhuhai airport. Under the new joint venture, Zhuhai airport has strengthened its airport management, upgraded the service standards and enhanced its connectivity. With an expected passenger volume of up to 2m in the next three years, Nuance-Watson (HK) stated that it viewed the new openings as great exposure to the Greater Pearl River Delta region's population of 52m. The company said that it “aims to expand its operational expertise and consolidate the learning curve to pave the way for further developments into China in the future”.
