The travel retailer has introduced a new environmentally friendly scheme at Hong Kong International airport

Passengers at Hong Kong International airport are being encouraged to reduce their usage of plastic bags as part of a new campaign by Nuance-Watson (HK). The campaign, entitled “Save and Preserve”, will take place at Nuance-Watson’s main stores in terminal one’s SkyPlaza. The green leaf motif will feature across all stores and is designed to increase customer awareness of the need to use fewer plastic bags.

From now on, customers who refuse a plastic bag will be rewarded with a rebate of HK$0.50 ($0.06) on their bill. Clients who insist on a bag will be encouraged to use reusable bags or invited to buy one of the environmentally-friendly non-woven bags that will be on sale at all Nuance-Watson outlets at HKIA.

All proceeds from the sale of these bags will be donated to ORBIS, a charity that aims to eliminate avoidable blindness in the third world.
