The Nordic Travel Retail Seminar is 70% full after opening bookings a week ago

Scheduled for May 25-26, this year's Nordic Travel Retail Seminar will focus on the challenges faced by the ferry sector, especially in the Baltic area. Since registration opened a week ago, 70% of places have been taken up and the organiser is urging delegates to book their place to avoid missing out.

Sessions will examine high-street retail excellence and the convenience category. European Travel Retail Council president Frank O'Connell is the keynote speaker.

The seminar will take place on a ship that contains just 125 cabins. Forty single cabins are still available, at a cost of €645 ($850) each. The event will take place on board the Color Line cruiseship Color Fantasy on a crossing between Oslo and Kiel, after which delegates will visit Gebr Heinemann's new logistics centre in Hamburg.

Nordic Travel Retail Group chairman Alan Bork said: "We are very thrilled to see such interest. One of the disadvantages of having the conference on a ship is that capacity is limited. Unfortunately we may end up turning down delegates. However, we do encourage people to register soon. We will try our best to accommodate everybody."
