Nordic groups create powerful purchasing pool

18-Mar-2003

SAS Trading, SAS Flightshop, Spanair and Braathens have created a joint purchasing group for their airport and airline retail operations

SAS Trading, SAS Flightshop and Spanair already worked together but Braathens is a key addition.

SAS Trading president Patric Sjöberg said: "Coordinated purchasing gives us greater influence over our suppliers. We are very satisfied to have the opportunity of welcoming Braathens as an additional strength."

Braathens manager inflight sales Per Morten Aanonsen said: "We are promising a delivery guarantee for pre-ordered goods on both charter and regular flights. If customers don't receive their goods, we will pay the difference in relation to the price of the goods in the local market, which means we are making extensive demands on all of our middlemen. SAS Trading has a recognized skilled purchasing organization, with high delivery assurance and efficient logistics channels. We are extremely confident about this new cooperation."
