Concessionaires will seek approval to expand or renovate locations from the board when it meets later this week

Several airport concessionaires at Dallas Fort Worth International airport (DFW) are looking to expand or renovate their outlets and will seek airport board approval when it meets on Thursday, according to reports in the local media. XpresSpa, which has operated a location next to gate A24 since June, wants to open a second day spa at the airport’s international terminal D. Starbucks plans to refurbish its outlet near gate A33 and to open a new one close to gate A38. And a new technology store enabling travellers to test electronic products called Techshowcase is being proposed for a location near gate C12.

DFW recently announced a 13.9% rise in total gross sales from its retail and food and beverage concessions in the 11 months to August 31 to $211.6m.
