A temporary plaza in T3 and a permanent area between terminals two and three will add 3,000sq m (32,291sq ft) of new retail space

Airport authority Copenhagen Airports has announced it will invest DKr1bn ($194m) in developing Copenhagen Kastrup airport in 2008, the highest amount since the construction of terminal three. The plans include the addition of about 3,000sq m (32,291sq ft) of new retail space in two different areas of the airport.

Copenhagen Airports vice-president commercial affairs Henrik Busch told DFNIonline.com: “We have two ongoing projects: a large commercial square at terminal three, which will open later this week, and a further development of what we call Neutral, a new square in the central part of the main terminal building [between T2 and T3], which will be finished in the summer. Together they will add roughly 3,000sq m (32,291sq ft) of new retail space. Some of the brands are already present at the airport including Burberry and Gucci, but we are also adding many brands that are new to the airport such as Mulberry.”

Busch also explained that the new T3 plaza will be temporary in order to house the stores that will be moved to the Neutral area once the developments at the airport are complete.
