New Waked joint venture to open Aruba stores

Panamanian operator Waked Internacional is to open two new fragrance and cosmetics outlets in Aruba Queen Beatrix International airport, in partnership with local beauty retailer Dinico's

The two partners have created a joint-venture company to run beauty retailing at the location, under the fascia La Riviera Duty Free.

The new stores cover 50sq m (538sq ft) and 70sq m (753sq ft), and will complement Waked's existing 140sq m (1,506sq ft) beauty outlet at the location. Each store will employ a self-service layout with backwalls and gondolas available for promotional activity. The stores' promotional calendar is divided into 13 periods and special brochures for Christmas, Easter, Mothers' Day and Valentine's Day will be produced.

The new La Riviera stores will open on October 1.
