New Pavilion for enlarged TFWA World Exhibition

6-Sep-2002

Tax Free World Association has announced a new exhibition facility will be added in October outside the Palais des Festivals in Cannes this year, to house the Travel Dream display area and an extensive range of services for show participants

The Pavilion area will consist of two luxury marquees. One will be a 200sq m (2,152sq ft) area for a TFWA Members Lounge, where members and delegate buyers can mingle, and the Press Centre. The second 450sq m (4,842sq ft) marquee will house Delegate Services and will provide the display area for Travel Dream. This year's new products concept is on the theme of "re-enchantment" bringing an element of escapism and fantasy back to the travel-retail arena.

TFWA in co-operation with commercial partners and the City of Cannes said it will provide a larger than ever range of concierge and business services including ticket booking for Le Premium Evening and The Scene and an Internet Centre.

The relocation of the TFWA administrative offices plus the transfer of the TFWA Members Lounge and Press Centre to the new Pavilion is permitting TFWA to implement a 34% expansion of the Mediterranean Village and the opening up of the full Golden Village to stands. The total exhibition area will therefore increase by 5% on last year to 15,128sq m (162,777sq ft). In addition there will be five TFWA-designated yachts moored in the Harbour Village, immediately behind the Palais.
