Narita privatisation on track as key meeting nears

31-May-2003

The privatisation of Tokyo Narita airport authority NAA is on schedule as the company's senior executives prepare to present their plans to the Japanese Senate later this month

The authority is due to be privatised by April next year which would allow it to move into directly-operated duty-free retailing, an aim NAA has confirmed to TRW.

A spokesman for NAA said the company's entry into duty-free would probably be discussed during the meeting with the Senate.
