Tokyo Narita's new South Wing in terminal one will feature a strong line-up of fashion boutiques
Tokyo Narita International airport authority NAA has announced the line-up of brand boutiques to feature in the airport's new South Wing in terminal one, scheduled to open in June. The stores will be shared between three retailers: the joint ventures between NAA and retail tenants JAL/DFS and JATCo, and well-established Narita operator ANA Trading Duty Free.
Adjacent to the South Wing's satellite five will be boutiques by Coach, Salvatore Ferragamo, Emporio Armani and Ralph Lauren, all run by NAA&JAL/DFS. Also in this zone will be a Bvlgari boutique run by ANA Trading and a Cartier store operated by NAA Retailing, the joint venture between NAA and JATCo.
Near satellites three and four will be boutiques by Hermès and Ferragamo plus a watch outlet, all operated by NAA Retailing.
NAA has long harboured ambitions to run its own stores at Narita, a plan made possible after the company's privatisation began in May 2004. It has now established three joint-venture companies with retail partners—NAA Retailing, NAA&JAL/DFS and NAA&ANA Duty Free, its partnership with ANA Trading which will take over some of ANA's existing stores in Narita T2 from June. The contracts setting up the joint ventures will expire five years after the opening of T1's South Wing, giving NAA the option of taking full control from 2011.
