Narita airport affected by liquid regulations

Airport officials have poured away over 2,000 bottles of liquids since liquid regulations were introduced in Japan at the beginning of the month
Narita International airport has disposed of 1,600 bottles of liquor and about 350 bottles of fragrances in March so far, according to local reports. The country introduced the International Civil Aviation Organizations (ICAO) guidelines on liquids at the beginning of the month.
According to research conducted by the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA), the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) has sought to minimise confusion over the new rules by distributing samples of resealable plastic bags to be demonstrated in public campaigns; educated the public with leaflets, posters, videos and a website explaining the guidelines; and training for airport staff.
JCAB is not attempting to enter bilateral agreements with Europe as it "considers it important to establish arrangements of mutual recognition under the ICAO umbrella", according to APTRA.
