British designer Nadia Minkoff is to showcase her first collection aimed at travel-retail at the TFWA Asia Pacific 2008 show in Singapore. Minkoff debuted in duty-free at the TFWA’s Designer Studio as part of the 2006 Asia/Pacific event and now hopes to develop her business in the region’s airport and inflight markets. The designer will present a selection of handbags and purses from the summer and winter ranges, in addition to the company’s first fashion jewellery collection.

Minkoff said: “The Design Studio was a great experience and gave me a fantastic insight into the needs of the travel-retail business. Travel-retail is a global community embracing all backgrounds and nationalities. It has an enormous potential to be one of the most exciting and unique shopping experiences.”

She added: “The timing is now right for me to focus on developing a market in travel-retail. I believe I can offer the industry a strong collection of handbags and accessories that are highly suited to the market, in terms of quality and design, and an affordable price point. I have tailored the collection for travel-retail, offering a variety of designs from small, elegant evening clutch bags to stylish day bags using the softest leather and unique design features. The jewellery collection is all hand-made in the Czech Republic, using hand-dipped glass pearls, in a range of beautiful colours. I have designed some pieces with the Asian consumer in mind, taking into account their love of very feminine colourful designs.”

The Nadia Minkoff collection of handbags and purses ranges in price from £35 ($68) to £200 ($390). The jewellery range retails for £25-120 ($50-235).
