Gerry Murray has returned to the company after two years with Samsonite to head the global travel-retail business

Luxury chocolate supplier Godiva has announced the appointment of Gerry Murray as sales director Europe. He returns to the company after two years with Samsonite, where he set up a dedicated travel-retail division, and will be responsible for Godiva’s global travel-retail business and wholesale operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Murray will also head the company’s customer service department.

He said: “Samsonite is a fantastic brand and I enjoyed my time there very much. I also learned a lot and hopefully can bring some of this experience into my new role. The opportunity to return to Godiva, where I am able to expand my role beyond travel-retail, was just too good a chance to pass up. I’ve always found this business to be particularly challenging and exciting, and have always got a great deal of satisfaction from working in the food and beverage sector.”
