The 35sq m (376sq ft) lounge will offer treatments from four prestige beauty brands to travellers
Munich airport will inaugurate later today (July 30} what it claims is the first clearly defined wellness zone in a European airport when it opens its Cosmetic Institute with treatments from four prestige beauty brands.
The 35sq m (376sq ft) lounge is operated by Eurotrade, the retail subsidiary of airport operator FMG Flughafen München, and is located beside the duty-free store on the non-Schengen departure level of terminal two, which is for Star Alliance flights and part owned and operated by lead alliance partner Lufthansa.
Sisley, La Prairie, Lancôme and Clarins will offer services to passengers that range from face and body treatments to manicures and a wide range of pre-flight and after-flight wellness options. Appointments can be arranged in advance and passengers who are travelling between Schengen countries can also use the new lounge by prior arrangement. The Cosmetic Institute will also carry an exclusive assortment of health and beauty products for sale.
FMG deputy chairman of the executive board and CFO Walter Vill said: “With the Cosmetic Institute, we have underscored our credentials as a hotbed of innovation. Only by continually optimising our range of services will we maintain our status in the future as a trailblazer among European airports.”
