The airport plans to have 100 retail and 50 food and beverage outlets at terminal two, set to open in 2012

Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) is to issue tenders for the construction and operation of the duty-free outlets at Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport terminal two soon, according to TravelBiz Monitor. MIAL, a consortium of GVK Industries and Airports Company South Africa, expects to open the refurbished international terminal in 2012, which will have about 100 retail and 50 food and beverage outlets.

According to the report, MIAL managing director Sanjay Reddy said the decision to issue the tender followed the receipt of several queries from retailers about the space available. He added that the tender process is expected to be finalised by the end of March and that existing outlets at the terminal would retain their current allocations.
