Fijian duty-free operator Motibhai Group has begun a $30m joint-venture project to create a new Suva Central business and retail complex, and its Prouds department store will be the anchor tenant.

Fijian duty-free operator Motibhai Group has begun a $30m joint-venture project to create a new Suva Central business and retail complex, and its Prouds department store will be the anchor tenant.

The new complex lies in the heart of Suva city's business district. The first phase, including two floors of commercial space and car parks, will open in May 2004.

Motibhai chairman and ceo Mahendra Motibhai Patel said: "Prouds will showcase all our important agencies and retail in the best environment possible. The store will be of international standard and will give all products a deserved upmarket profile."
