But with foreign arrivals at cross-town rival Domodedovo rising, and British Airways? recent decision to reroute its Moscow services to the airport, it may be time for a revolution. Gavin Lipsith speaks to operators at both facilities.

(1-Mar-2003) - By Gavin LipsithRUSSIA. British Airways (BA) is to transfer its flights from Moscow Sheremetyevo in favour of nearby Domodedovo airport from July 1, a move that could have far-reaching consequences for duty-free joint venture Aerofirst.

The joint-venture company is owned by Aer Rianta International (ARI), state carrier Aeroflot and Sheremetyevo airport authority. ARI holds a 33.3% stake in Moscow Duty Free, but the extended contract will give the Irish company greater control over retail at the location.
