Luxury goods group Gucci last week formalised the acquisition of 70% of Italian footwear manufacturer Regain. The transaction comes in the wake of the signing of a partnership agreement with Caravel Pelli Pregiate, a maker of luxury furs and supplier of precious leathers based in Fucecchio, Tuscany. Gucci said it had acquired a 51% stake in Caravel for an undisclosed sum to ensure a steady supply for its leather products.
