Swedish duty-free and travel-retail analysts Generation has entered into a wide-ranging agreement with Moodie International, a new company formed by former Duty-Free News International publisher and managing director Martin Moodie.

Moodie International will provide Generation's editorial services and jointly develop new research and analysis ventures, effective from mid-2002. Moodie becomes editor-in-chief for Generation.

Generation owner and president Yngve Bia said: "We are very delighted to welcome such a good friend and knowledgeable person such as Martin to our team. His arrival will further boost our opportunities to analyse and comment on the quantitative numbers we produce. Martin's vast experience and expertise will now guarantee that these qualitative and analytical objectives are reached."

Moodie added: "Yngve and I go back many years in the business. He and his great team have been the pioneers of data collection and analysis in the duty-free industry and their work has provided the essential building blocks for retailers, suppliers and publications over more than two decades. Together we will build that work to new qualitative heights."
