Montblanc signs licence for eyewear
Montblanc International and The Marcolin Group this week signed a licensing agreement for the production and world distribution of the new line of Montblanc eyewear and sunwear.
The agreement with Marcolin, a leading opticals manufacturer and distributor, signifies Montblanc's strategy to diversify and strengthen its position amongst luxury brands. The partnership will take shape in the new Montblanc eyewear collection, which will be distributed in Italy, Europe and in the US starting from spring 2003, and afterwards worldwide.
President and ceo of Montblanc International, Norbert A Platt, commented: "The new licensee agreement with the Marcolin Group is another step to continue the brand's successful diversification strategy and to establishing Montblanc as the genuine house of timeless luxury products. Eyewear is an important segment in the brand strategy consolidating Montblanc's character as a style brand."
- The Italian Marcolin Group brings together Marcolin and 17 distribution companies which hold the brand licence for Dolce & Gabbana/D&G Occhiali, Lunettes, Mossimo Vision, Replay Eyes, Fornarina Visionup!, Roberto Cavalli, Miss Sixty Glasses, Costume National, The North Face, and American brands: Essence, Unionbay, Bob Mackie, FAO Schwartz and NBA.
