Momentum grows for DFNI Charity Ball
Donations have been coming in fast for one of the most prestigious events in the duty-free calendar
With less than two weeks to go until the DFNI Charity Ball, which will take place on February 27 at the Renaissance Chancery Court Hotel in London, the travel-retail industry continues to demonstrate its support through generous donations. This year’s event will be in aid of the Jim Corbett Environmental Primary and Junior School in India, nominated by World Duty Free, Alpha Retail and Aldeasa business relations and external affairs director Sarah Branquinho.
The International Association of Airport Duty Free Stores has donated $2,500, while fashion company Salvatore Ferragamo has pledged an Emanuel Ungaro handbag worth €700 ($880) and two Ferragamo silk scarves valued at €110 ($140) each. Italian firm Maalbi has donated a range of cashmere and cashmere and silk scarves, and Australian jewellery supplier Jakk has offered 10 pieces for the silent auction. Leathergoods company I Santi has pledged a leather briefcase worth €250 ($315), while suppliers including Maui Jim, Premier Portfolio, Drambuie and Braun have also donated goods.
Tickets for the event are still available and further donations are welcome. To make a donation or to book tickets (£190+VAT) email Gerrard Kennedy at gerrard.kennedy@dfnionline.com.
