Minnesota-St Paul retail brands make airport debut

Minnesota Retail Partners has introduced three local retail brands to Minnesota-St Paul International airport and plans more additions
HMSHost joint venture Minnesota Retail Partners has reported "brisk" sales following the introduction of several local retail brands to Minnesota-St Paul International airport. The company said that Department 56 (Minnesota-based giftware and collectibles brand), children's bookshop The Red Balloon and women's fashion outlet Radio Road have proved popular with passengers since their recent airport debut.HMSHost's local partner CBR already operates retail outlets at 12 US airports. President Carole Howe said: "The Twin Cities [Minnesota and St Paul] has a distinct spirit of creativity and independence. All three new concepts capture the energy and colour of the Twin Cities' shopping scene. And this is just the beginning of the excitement we have planned."
The new stores are part of HMS Host and local partner CBR's plans to build 37 stores in the airport's remodelled and expanded Northstar Crossing. Minnesota Retail Partners also plans a second Lakeside News locally-themed news outlet as well as two FOX News Channel Newsstands in the next six weeks.
The company also plans to introduce Field & Stream, a Minnesota-based outdoors fashion retailer; Travel Beauty, featuring cosmetics from Estee Lauder and Clinique; jewellery and giftware concept Cielo; and a Kipling luggage store.
HMSHost president and CEO Jack McCarthy said: "It's a gratifying experience to help [the airport] realise its vision for this concessions programme. The joint venture is bringing a dynamic mix of proven brands and new concepts for passengers."
