Middle East executives lead duty-free masterclass

Abu Dhabi Duty Free deputy managing director Dan Cappell is among top travel retailers hosting a session at next week's Middle East Retail Conference in Dubai

Regional travel-retail executives are to hold a duty-free masterclass at the Middle East Retail Conference, to be held in Dubai on June 15-16. The event, organised by MEED Conferences and endorsed by the Middle East Duty Free Association, the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, includes a session in which Dubai Duty Free operations manager Sean Staunton discusses how to set up successful duty-free operations in the Gulf, and a panel featuring Abu Dhabi Duty Free deputy managing director Dan Cappell and Portland Design managing director Ibrahim Ibrahim.

Other notable speakers include Harvey Nichols ceo Joseph Wan and representatives from Microsoft Business Solutions, research group Retail International and the regional licensee of Saks Fifth Avenue.
