Miami sets date for duty-free tender
1-Oct-2004
The airport is to publish a draft request for proposals and lease agreement on its website next week
Miami International airport has announced a final date for the long-awaited duty-free tender. In an invitation to a duty-free industry review meeting sent to potential bidders the airport, which originally anticipated a May tender, said that a draft request for proposals and lease agreement would be posted on the business opportunities section of its website, www.miami-airport.com, next week. The review meeting, to be held on October 13, will offer companies a chance to provide feedback on the documents, and will provide them with information on operating and developing Miami's duty-free programme. Earlier this month, commercial operations manager Patricia Ryan revealed that the tender had been delayed as the result of another outstanding tender for duty-paid retail at 77 locations.
Parties interested in operating at Miami, or attending the meeting on October 13, should contact Lourdes Borrego at email: lborrego@miami-airport.com or tel: +1 305 876 7753.
