Dufry and Latinoamericana are likely to benefit from the opening of the Mexican capital's new terminal, scheduled for October

The new terminal two at Mexico City International airport is expected to open on schedule at the end of October, according to the Mexican ministry of transport. More than $600m has been invested in the new 229,000sq m (2.46msq ft) facility, designed to cope with 12m passengers per year in addition to the 18m passengers that will use the airport's recently renovated T1.

The airport authority declined to confirm details of the commercial facilities at the new terminal but local sources suggest that Mexico City's incumbent operators Dufry Group and Latinoamericana de Duty Free are likely to be awarded concessions.
