Over 160 of South and Central America?s most influential travel-retail figures gather in Cancun, Mexico for this year?s ASUTIL conference.

Over 160 of South and Central America?s most prominent travel-retail executives are gathered in Cancun, Mexico for this year?s ASUTIL conference, organised in partnership with TRW publisher Raven Fox.

The event opened last night with a slice of Mexican flair, courtesy of the Weitnauer-sponsored opening cocktail. Delegates enjoyed a colourful selection of local delicacies and plentiful tequila, and were entertained by a traditional 10-piece Mariachi band. The evening was held on the waterfront at the Gran Melia hotel, venue of this year?s conference.

The conference proper begins today, with contributions from the region?s leading duty-free operators. Highlights look sure to include panel discussions on pricing and the rapidly changing passenger profile in South America?s airports.
